Wages and Benefits - Federal Compliance Meetings
As you know, we are witnessing frequent and sweeping changes to federal laws that impact all our employees, full and part time. The Affordable Care Act (ACA) brought new reporting requirements in January of 2016, and now changes to the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) are effective in December of 2016.
We are not out of compliance today, however we must take action to remain in compliance as the new changes take effect - in justice to our employees and to avoid possible fines/penalties associated with non-compliance.
Meetings have been scheduled to provide information and action plans to help you. Pastors and Administrators with your Business/Office Managers, please attend one of these meetings together to give you the best opportunity to be ready for the changes. I recognize the challenges we all face as we set priorities and manage workloads. Based on information from our Finance and HR departments, this matter of compliance is important and urgent, and I ask you to consider your attendance at one of these meetings to be required.
